Night Lightning is a boutique New Zealand light manufacturer that hand assembles  some of the finest LED lighting products available on the globe for the extreme adventure sport market.  No expense is spared in the design, materials and components found in these lights.  All of the Night Lightning lights that we offer use state of the art LED’s, microcontroller based constant current buck regulators that are user configurable, and built-in circuitry to protect both the user and the light.
The MiniBlaast is our most popular light.  It is a 35mm (MR-11 format) light housing holding 3 CREE XP-G LED’s with a single triple optic for maximum output.  The CREE XP-G is the latest “state of the art” LED that has hit the market.  Light output (as stated by the marketing people that work for the manufacturer) is 1200 lumens.  We all know that these are “optimal” lab numbers and do not state real world output, which are reduced by many things including heat and optics.  The MiniBlaast is an excellent performing light, providing significant light output and more operational flexibility than the “all-out” QuadBlaast.  The MiniBlaast can run on SLA 12V or NiMH 13.2V batteries, although we prefer our 14.8V Li-Ion battery pack.  The MiniBlaast has 25% longer run-time as compared to the QuadBlaast.

All the Night Lightning lights are available in Digital Control Module (DCM) format.  This gives you all of the same digital features but moves the control module off the head of the light.  This gives you the lightest bare light, which is
The QuadBlaast is a 35mm (MR-11 format) light housing holding 4 CREE XP-G LED’s with a single quad optic for maximum output.  The CREE XP-G is the latest “state of the art” LED that has hit the market.  Light output (as stated by the marketing people that work for the manufacturer) is a staggering 1600 lumens.  We all know that these are “optimal” lab numbers and do not state real world output, which are reduced by heat and optics.  Nevertheless, these lights put out an amazing amount of light.  This light requires a battery pack that puts out at least 14.8V, like our Li-Ion battery pack.  Approximate run time with a 14.8V Li-Ion 2.2Ah battery pack is  3 hours at 700ma or 2 hours on high at 1000ma.

The Complete Kit includes the light head, helmet mount, 2.6Ah Li Ion Battery Pack, and 1.5A Smart Charger.

All the Night Lightning lights are available in Digital Control Module (DCM) format.  This gives you all of the same digital features but moves the control module off the head of the light.  This gives you the lightest bare light, which is preferred when the light is helmet mounted.
The helmet/bar mount is included with every light.  This is a Nightlightning designed aluminium universal helmet/bar mount that allows the light to be mounted to your helmet, even with narrow venting, or to your handlebar, with the purchase of a handle bar clamp.   The mount includes 3M dual lock fastening tape and rubber pads to properly secure the light to the helmet.  While many people like to run a handle bar mounted light, because this may provide better depth perception than a light that is shining from the same angle as your eyes.  However, given the light output of the Nightlightning lights, a helmet mounted light is our preferred single light riding solution.
The light is affixed to an adjustable crossbar on the helmet/bar mount that can be adjusted on axis up or down.  Remember that when you are riding with a helmet on, your head is angled down, so the mount should be positioned to allow for the light to shine out in front of you.
The kiwi graphic on the back of the light has three little bumps and is the only control switch on the light.  This is a sensitive membrane switch that turns on and off the light as well as provides all the level adjustments and custom setup of the light.  The Kiwi is a flightless bird endemic to New Zealand and is the national symbol of New Zealand.
Just to give you an idea of how small this light is, here is a picture of a quarter on the lens of the light.
The AftaBlasta is a rear RED LED light for incredible visibility, even in the daylight.  These rear lights have 3 Cree Red LEDs.  The light is designed to feed through the battery supply, so that you can run both a front and rear light off one battery.  The AftaBlasta has an Admin mode to set output levels and to match battery specifications.  The light allows for low flashing or very high power flashing.  If you are a commuter or if you are worried about not being seen, the AftaBlasta is the answer - Day or Night.

We are paranoid commuters ourselves!  Be Safe.
We sell our Helmet/Bar Mount if anyone would like to add an additional mount to another bike/helmet or upgrade a current mount.  This is a Nightlightning designed aluminium universal tilting helmet/bar mount that allows the light to be mounted to your helmet, even with narrow venting, or to your handlebar, with the purchase of a handle bar clamp.   The mount includes 3M dual lock fastening tape and rubber pads to properly secure the light to the helmet.
Here is a picture of how bright the AftaBlasta is during the day.  This is a great light for commuting.
